Puente ve al PSOE-A «fuerte de nuevo» con Montero tras la «generosidad» de Espadas

El ministro perceives «fatigue» in the «shadowy right» of the country that «realizes» that the socialists «are tough as rock»

ARMILLA (GRANADA), 21 (EUROPA PRESS)

The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, has defended this Friday that the PSOE of Andalusia is «strong again» and prepared to open «an encouraging stage» with María Jesús Montero as the new general secretary replacing Juan Espadas, whom he highlighted for his «generosity» to «step aside» and make way for the also First Vice President of the Government at the helm of the Andalusian socialist federation.

This was pointed out by the minister during his participation in an agora entitled ‘Infrastructures, productive fabric and Andalusian talent’, held in Armilla (Granada) on the eve of the official inauguration of the XV Regional Congress of the Andalusian PSOE, a forum in which he was accompanied by the Secretary General of the Young Socialists of Andalusia (JSA), Alejandro Moyano.

At the end of his intervention, Óscar Puente emphasized that «the PSOE needs the PSOE of Andalusia, without a doubt», not only the PSOE-A, but «the Andalusians» in general, «and Andalusia needs the PSOE,» he added, and at that point he valued the «generosity» and «foresight» that, in his opinion, was present in the congress process of the Andalusian socialists to enable the relay between Espadas and Montero.

Thus, he indicated that the former general secretary, Juan Espadas, «has had the foresight and the generosity that one must have to step aside and make way for a colleague who can improve what he has been doing with humility.»

«And the colleague María Jesús Montero has taken a step that certainly shows the enormous commitment she has to the PSOE and to her land,» added Óscar Puente, who maintained that «the enthusiasm one perceives when going to the territories and sees that the PSOE believes in it and starts running again, starts going full throttle.»

The Minister of Transport has praised María Jesús Montero and proclaimed that she «is not a cardboard politician» or «posturing,» and in that line he emphasized that «there is nothing fake or pretentious about her,» but that «she is a real woman, who conveys what she feels, what she thinks, who does not hide and does not deceive, and who wants much more.»

«She loves Spain very much, she loves Andalusia very much, she loves the PSOE very much and works like no one else,» continued Óscar Puente in praising his cabinet colleague, also valuing her «work capacity,» her «courage and bravery,» and commented that «if that is not what Andalusia needs, I don’t know what this community will need.»

«I certainly would like many María Jesús Monteros for many places in Spain,» Óscar Puente also said, encouraging Andalusian socialists to work «hard, united, together and pushing, pulling the cart, so that this enthusiasm that has been reborn in the PSOE is not wasted, and that we all help that great woman, that great colleague so hardworking, so strong, so committed and giving everything,» he emphasized referring to the First Vice President of the Government and Minister of Finance, whom he described as «a socialist from head to toe, with capital letters and truly.»

Thus, the Minister of Transport maintained that «it is noticeable that the PSOE of Andalusia is back, that it is strong again,» and that «an encouraging stage opens that must end again with the PSOE governing this land and returning everything it needs to this land.»

«FATIGUE» IN THE «SHADOWY RIGHT»

On the other hand, at another point in his intervention, the minister conveyed his «feeling» that the «shadowy right» that, in his opinion, exists in Spain, «is starting to get tired» because «they realize» that the socialists «are tough as rock» and «not so easy to break through.»

Óscar Puente pointed out that this «shadowy right» that he perceives «still believes that the country is theirs, it is a giant estate that belongs to them,» and «anything that is not them in power is an anomalous situation, and therefore they are legitimized to do anything to remove us from power.»

«But they are not going to succeed, have that clear,» warned the Minister of Transport, who asserted that they will not «intimidate» him. That said, he added that he has «the feeling that they are starting to get a little tired» because «they have seen that their strategy has not worked,» and now, «beyond those right-wingers known to all, who follow you to certain places, the intensity has dropped considerably, in my case at least, of insults and persecution.»

«I think they are starting to get tired because they realize that we are tough as rock and it is not so easy to break through,» opined the minister, who expressed his hope that, «from now until 2027» –«two difficult years» for the right until the date of the next general elections–, «they will realize that the way in democracy to take power is to propose things, develop a project and that the citizens trust in it, not insults, falsehood, lies, disqualification, persecution through judicial matters that have no basis,» he added.

The socialist minister thus expressed his confidence that the right «becomes aware that to convince the Spanish people to give them the majority, they must truly present an alternative on the table, something that so far is clear they have not been able to do,» he concluded.
