The PSOE of Granada has highlighted the commitment of the Spanish Government to promote employment in the northern area of the province with a contribution of 4.5 million euros to implement projects under the Agricultural Employment Promotion Program (PFEA), as well as to increase pensions benefiting over 4,400 pensioners in Baza.
In Baza, alongside the spokesperson of the socialist municipal group in the Bastetan council, Manuel Gavilán, Congresswoman Olvido de la Rosa emphasized the commitment of the Pedro Sánchez government in both areas with the goal of ensuring «the well-being of the people and the development of the territory,» as detailed by the PSOE in a press release.
Regarding the PFEA, De la Rosa pointed out that the planned investment in the regions of Baza and Huéscar, through the income guarantee plan and the stable job creation plan, «will undoubtedly generate employment and wealth in these territories and their respective municipalities.»
De la Rosa explained that in the case of the city of Baza, it allows for the development of the conditioning of several streets such as Virgen de la Piedad, Puerta Grande, Cantabria, and Lugo, for which the Spanish Government provides over 245,000 euros for the payment of salaries and social security of the workers.
Additionally, the modernization of the Caz Alto irrigation ditch, Fuente San Juan-Copetín entrance, will be carried out with a total investment of 148,200 euros, which depends on the special PFEA.
In terms of pensions, De la Rosa highlighted the «significant effort of the Pedro Sánchez government towards the pensioners of Baza and the region, who have seen their benefits increase once again. It has been six consecutive years of growth where the average pension has increased by more than 26.6 percent.»
«More than 4,400 pensioners in Baza will see their pensions increased thanks to a total investment of over 63 million euros annually only in Baza. The Spanish Government will allocate 176.7 million euros in 2025 to both regions to improve the purchasing power of pensioners and promote consumption in local businesses in an area in need of incentives, and for which this government has not stopped working,» she added.
On the other hand, the socialist spokesperson in the Baza City Council, Manuel Gavilán, stated that the PFEA «is creating numerous job positions and positively impacting the infrastructure and conditioning of certain facilities and areas» in the region.
He also emphasized the «economic impact that the pension increase has on Baza and our region. It is nothing more than working for the dignity and dignification of the pensions of those hard-working individuals who have given practically everything for us.»
