The President of the Junta, Juanma Moreno, has indicated that ceding 100% of taxes to a territory is breaking the principles of equality and solidarity among territories. Thus, he pointed out that Andalusia will be very attentive to what the Spanish Government does with the concessions to Catalonia, while also recalling that the Andalusian community plays a fundamental role in the balance of Spain, as it did in 1980 when it demanded a first-rate autonomy, balance, and equality.
He affirmed that a President of the Government must unite his country and also promote progress and well-being, and he described everything that is happening as serious, explaining that «it gradually dissolves territorial cohesion, making decisions that cannot be reversed and that concern all Spaniards, doing so without knowledge, information, prior debates, and with agreements that do not lead to the best decision.»
«The President of the Government has the obligation to protect the general interest and not make his own weakness the weakness of an entire nation. If that happens, Andalusia offers itself now to the rest of the territories to take the lead and lead the defense of equality. Together and against whoever is necessary because playing with equality is playing with the future of Andalusians and Spaniards,» he added.
Moreno, who participated in the presentation of the Anuario Joly 2025 in Seville, defended the ‘Andalusian way’ based on moderation, political stability, legal security, dialogue, respect, consensus, and acting in accordance with the principles and values that give meaning to our society. «The Andalusian recipe is no mystery, it is about serving society and staying away from extremism.»
At this point, he noted that we are living in such a complex, difficult, and turbulent time that we need true, serious, reliable, and professional journalism that tells things as they are and commits to real control over the powers that steer the course of our society.
Moreno emphasized the commitment of the Andalusian Government to continue working for prosperity, transformation, and the real interests of Andalusia, citing data that reflects that the measures taken are yielding results, such as Andalusia breaking export records once again, with nearly a 5% increase in the year-on-year of April and a trade surplus of 816 million euros in the quarter.
In addition, he highlighted that the number of Andalusian companies registered with Social Security is rising again, while in Spain this figure remains stagnant, that Andalusia has the highest number of self-employed individuals in the country, and that it led the decrease in unemployment in absolute terms in June, marking the lowest figure in seventeen years.
The President of the Junta, Juanma Moreno, with the rest of the authorities, upon arrival at the presentation of the Anuario Joly 2025, held in Seville.
He also noted that in the GDP of the first quarter, industry, the service sector, and agriculture are growing, and this year, public universities in Andalusia have reached their highest funding ever, with 1.747 million euros.
Furthermore, he emphasized that socio-educational attention for 2 to 3-year-olds will be free, a key agreement has been signed with unions for the reinforcement of teaching staff and the reduction of ratios, Andalusia has 27% more healthcare workers than in 2018, and around 2,000 million euros will have been mobilized in water policies by the end of the year since 2019.
The President of the Junta insisted on the importance of having a roadmap based on the trust that is generated when there is stability, something that is happening in Andalusia and, as he said, «we must not put at risk.»
This is where he stated that he believes in realistic policies with narratives marked and supported by data that offer citizens achievable solutions, advancing in various fields and trying to provide solutions to everything that is possible, but without creating frustrations. «It is essential to keep populism away from institutions and respect them by fostering credibility in the objectives. We must avoid noise, confrontation, and polarization because the wall that separates leaves a mark and a debt that future generations will pay.»
The event was attended by the Councilor of the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue, and Administrative Simplification, Antonio Sanz; the Councilor of Educational Development and Vocational Training, Patricia del Pozo; the Councilor of Industry, Energy, and Mines, Jorge Paradela; and the Councilor of Justice, Local Administration, and Public Function, José Antonio Nieto.
