Los aranceles son injustos y detendrán el progreso, el bienestar, el empleo y el futuro.

The President of the Andalusian Government, Juanma Moreno, has stated that tariffs make no sense and will only generate economic problems and hinder progress, welfare, employment, and the future. He has described them as «unjust» and affirmed that Andalusia will act and react in collaboration with the National Government because it is a problem that affects everyone.

Moreno has urged the Spanish Government and European institutions to start conversations to solve the problem that these unjust tariffs pose because far from being a solution, they present a serious problem.

In this regard, he has indicated that in the meantime, the Andalusian Government will be in full collaboration with the central Government to address this issue and has pointed out that it is a problem of such gravity that it should be addressed in a Conference of Presidents, since, as he has stated, Andalusia and Catalonia are the two most exporting communities in Spain, and this represents a significant detriment to key sectors for the Andalusian community such as the industrial or agri-food sectors, specifically products like olive oil.

The Andalusian President has also announced that on Monday he will hold a meeting with the major trade unions and the CEA and will also address this issue with the different political parties to «together and from Andalusia contribute our bit, providing solutions to the problems that all of this entails.»

In this way, he has stated that the Andalusian Government will provide the resources at its disposal to help companies that will lose market in the USA and support them so they can pave their way in other markets such as the Asian market.

In this respect, he has emphasized that a commercial delegation to Japan will be prepared before the end of the political term to promote and strongly advertise Andalusian products, thus opening new markets that can be an alternative to the markets that are closing in North America.
