The Minister of the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue, and Administrative Simplification, Antonio Sanz, defended in a session at the Andalusian Parliament the commitment of the Andalusian Government to the digital transformation of Andalusia through the Andalusian Digital Agency (ADA) and highlighted that the Junta has trained nearly four million people in the last five years, six times more than in the period 2008-2018.
He also pointed out the positive impact of the Andalusian Digital Training Plan, which has already implemented 120 million euros of its budget and has carried out 8,875 training actions with the participation of over 391,000 people. Additionally, the modernization of over 700 centers in the Puntos Vuela network has been mentioned, with a total investment of 42.5 million euros to transform them into digital training spaces accessible and tailored to the needs of the population.
In this regard, Antonio Sanz emphasized the «unprecedented budget increase experienced by the Agency, consolidating itself as a fundamental pillar for the modernization of the administration and Andalusian society.»
Antonio Sanz highlighted that the ADA budget for 2025 amounts to 510 million euros, representing a 31% increase compared to 2024. This growth is even more significant when compared to the initial budget of 142 million euros in 2021, the year the Agency was created. In subsequent years, budgets have consistently increased to 271 million in 2022, 296 in 2023, and 390 in 2024. «In just four budgetary exercises, investment in digitalization has multiplied by 3.6, demonstrating the firm commitment of the Andalusian Government to digital transformation,» reiterated the minister.
Among the main items in the 2025 budget, Antonio Sanz highlighted the 32.5 million euros allocated to the Digital Training Plan, 26.9 million for the construction of the Data Processing Center at the PCT Cartuja in Seville, and 13.1 million to strengthen cybersecurity in the region. Additionally, 6.5 million euros have been assigned for the evolution and support of the Andalucía 112 emergency technology platform, and another 6.5 million for the creation of eight digital entrepreneurship hubs.
The Minister of the Presidency also referred to the historic public employment offer promoted by the Junta de Andalucía in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). In 2023 and 2024, 359 new ICT positions were created in the regional administration. In this regard, the minister highlighted that «in just three years, the Junta’s ICT employment offer has almost doubled compared to the last 13 years.»
Regarding cybersecurity, Antonio Sanz recalled the opening in November 2023 of the Andalusian Cybersecurity Center in Malaga, «a pioneering national infrastructure that has received over 60 million euros to date and reinforces the security of the Junta’s information systems, positioning us as leaders in this field,» he emphasized.
Furthermore, the minister emphasized the importance of the upcoming Andalusian Digital Law (LADI), currently in the process of approval, which will establish a unified regulatory framework to consolidate the digital transformation of the community, ensuring digital inclusion for all citizens and promoting technological innovation in the public and private sectors.
The minister concluded by reaffirming the Andalusian Government’s commitment «to digitalization, ensuring that Andalusia continues to lead technological development in Spain and consolidating a more agile, efficient, and accessible administration model for all Andalusians.»
