El SAS destaca buenas prácticas en Atención Primaria para colectivos vulnerables.

The Andalusian Health Service (SAS), in collaboration with the Andalusian School of Public Health (EASP), has identified and evaluated a dozen good practices in Primary and Community Care aimed at vulnerable populations.

This initiative, driven by the Operational Planning Service of the Primary Care Health Management Subdirectorate of the SAS, has actively involved health districts and health management areas (AGS), which have submitted a total of 68 experiences. Of these, 57 met the established inclusion criteria and 12 were recognized as good practices after passing a demanding evaluation system.

The tool used, specifically developed for this purpose, assessed aspects such as equity, gender perspective, evaluability, and impact. This methodology has not only made it possible to highlight innovative and effective interventions, but has also promoted a culture of continuous improvement in the community setting.

Among the highest-rated experiences are the Active Aging School of the Málaga-Guadalhorce District (28 points) or the implementation of care guides in elderly care homes in the Bahía de Cádiz-La Janda District (21 points), as well as a sex education program for adolescents with functional diversity, from the Osuna AGS (20 points).

Practices focused on migrant populations, community health, gender violence, and cognitive accessibility have also been evaluated, coming from districts such as Almería, Seville, Granada, or Campo de Gibraltar.

This process has allowed the SAS to systematize effective interventions, promote networking between territories, and strengthen the role of Primary and Community Care as a guarantor of health equity.

The Andalusian Health Service highlights the high level of involvement of professionals and teams, as well as the potential for these actions to be replicated in other settings. The experience will serve as a basis for future calls in which continuous improvement of healthcare closest to the citizens will continue to be promoted.
