The delegate of the Government of Spain in Andalusia, Pedro Fernández, highlighted on Saturday «the great impact» of the 194.8 million euros allocated by the Spanish Government to the development of the Agricultural Employment Promotion Plan (PFEA) in Andalusia. He explained that it contributes «to the transformation of Andalusian towns through the implementation of actions that, in addition to improving the urban environment, have a positive impact on the quality of life of its inhabitants, offering them employment opportunities that strengthen the population in the territory and contribute to the fight against depopulation.»

In a press release, the Government reported that the delegate visited the municipality of Diezma (Granada), where he acknowledged «how with an investment close to 150,000 euros in the current PFEA 2024-2025 exercise, infrastructure has been improved, environmental surroundings have been enhanced, new urban furniture has been incorporated into boulevards, and the ‘Cenicero’ irrigation ditch has been improved,» adding that this initiative supplies irrigation to farms, «a set of works that, while not reaching striking or million-euro figures, represents a significant transformation in this locality.»

In total, four actions have been planned in Diezma for this exercise, with a total investment of 228,679 euros, «which has been faced thanks to a state subsidy exceeding 65% through PFEA funds,» figures that Pedro Fernández has translated into job creation, «more than a hundred workers.»

For the 2025-2026 exercise, the Regional Commission of the Agricultural Employment Promotion Program (PFEA) approved 194.8 million euros for the entire Andalusia region, of which 153.4 million are allocated to Income Guarantees and 41.3 million to Stable Employment actions, representing «a growth of 26.7% in the last six years.» This economic injection in the territory will result in approximately the creation of 120,000 contracts and more than 2.1 million days of work.

Additionally, Fernández has emphasized that with this financial contribution from the State, «the salary costs (wages and social security contributions) of agricultural workers who are hired for the execution of social interest works proposed by municipalities, whose economy depends mainly on the agricultural sector, are covered.»

In addition to this amount, contributions from other administrations (Andalusian Government, provincial councils, and municipalities) are added for the acquisition of materials.
