El 91,98% de estudiantes andaluces aprueba la PAU

The 91.98% of Andalusian students who have taken the Access Phase of the University Entrance Exam (PAU) have passed, which amounts to 38,013 students out of a total of 41,327 examined students in this mandatory part, according to the data provided by the Ministry of University, Research, and Innovation. This percentage is lower than the 96.86% in 2024, due to the substantial changes incorporated in the new evaluation model applied this year, which introduces a format with less optionality and more weight on competency-based questions. In any case, the pass rate recorded this year corresponds to the levels reached in the pre-stage.

By gender, out of the 23,402 women who have taken this phase, a total of 21,441 have passed, representing 91.62%, while in the case of men, 16,572 out of 17,925 candidates have achieved a satisfactory result, equivalent to 92.45%.

The highest grade was a 10 achieved by a student in the province of Málaga. This is the maximum score that students can achieve in the Access Phase, although it can be complemented with four additional points obtained in the Admission Phase, based on the grade obtained in these exams and the weighting assigned according to the degree requested. The next best grades were a 9.99 achieved by a student from the province of Málaga, a 9.985 obtained by a student from the province of Granada, a 9.975 reached by three students (one from Málaga, one from Huelva, and one from Sevilla), a 9.966 recorded by a student from the province of Jaén, a 9.964 by a student from Córdoba, a 9.954 by a person from Sevilla, and a 9.95 achieved by nine students (one from Almería, two from Cádiz, two from Córdoba, two from Sevilla, and two from Málaga).

Regarding universities, the University of Almería has recorded a 91.05% pass rate, with 2,939 out of 3,228 students passing, the University of Cádiz achieved a percentage of 92.75%, with a total of 5,592 out of 6,029 passing. The number of successful students at the University of Córdoba amounts to 3,525 out of 3,791, representing a 92.98% pass rate, the successful students at the University of Granada total 5,161, a 91.06% of the 5,668 examined, at the University of Huelva they amount to 1,800 out of 2,070, which is 87%, and at the University of Jaén the rate was 92.54%, translating to 2,718 students out of 2,937.

On the other hand, the University of Málaga has a 92.56% rate of successful students, equivalent to 7,019 out of 7,583, the Pablo de Olavide (Sevilla) shows a pass rate of 93.66%, with 1,211 students out of 1,293 achieving satisfactory results, and at the University of Sevilla, the rate stands at 92.21%, indicating that 8,048 out of 8,728 young people have passed.

In this ordinary call of the PAU, a total of 8,744 students also presented themselves to the Admission Phase, which is voluntary for grade improvement. In this case, they could take exams in up to four subjects, but only the grades of the two most favorable for the chosen degrees are considered, weighing between 0 and 0.2, depending on the affinity level to future university studies. The maximum score to achieve in this phase is four points.

The pre-registration phase begins

Once the results are known, on the same 12th of June, the period for submitting applications for access to public universities’ degrees in Andalusia has opened, a deadline that will end on the 23rd of June.

To participate in the admission process, the Commission of the Unique University District of Andalusia advises all students to submit the pre-registration application, even if they are unsuccessful, in anticipation that they may pass the test after the necessary reviews.

As this is a competitive concurrence procedure in which requests cannot be included outside the established deadline, the software through which the application is submitted allows for a grade below five points to be entered, which will be automatically updated when the university assigns a new grade. If this grade is equal to or higher than five points, the application will be considered in the process with all rights.

Like in previous years, university access pre-registration will only be done electronically on the website of the Unique Andalusian District. On this platform, those who have taken the exams at an Andalusian university do not need to submit any documentation to their academic institutions.

The publication of the first allocation of places will take place on the 3rd of July. On that day, the enrollment period, confirmation, or reservation will begin, lasting for seven days, until the 9th of July. The second allocation will occur on the 17th of July and extend until the 10th of October.

To facilitate the selection of degrees, the cut-off grades from previous years can be consulted, available on the Unique Andalusian District’s website, for purely informative or indicative purposes. The universities do not set the cut-off grades; they correspond to the grade of the last student enrolled in each degree, university, and access route, and may vary from one academic year to another.

Applicants are bound by the priority order established in the application, so when the allocation is made, they will be assigned the place corresponding to the most preferred degree and center in which they are admitted based on their access grade.

Employment insertion survey to guide selection

The Ministry of University, Research, and Innovation has made available to students starting the next academic year the most significant data from a report prepared by the Andalusian Institute of Statistics and Cartography (IECA) on the subjects with the highest employment opportunities and the level of employment insertion of graduates from academic institutions.

This information is available through the Unique Andalusian District’s website. This measure aims to provide university students with relevant information to help them decide which degree to enroll in.
