A group of thirty specialist teachers in Therapeutic Pedagogy from Granada have gathered this Monday at the event ‘New technologies in Therapeutic Pedagogy’ held at the Cultural Gallery of the Parque de las Ciencias. This activity aimed at the educational community is organized by the Education Service of the Parque de las Ciencias in collaboration with the Private Center for Special Education San Rafael (Cdpee San Rafael) in Granada and the Andalusian Network of Robotics and Educational Technology.
As detailed by the Parque de las Ciencias in a statement, the objective of this training activity is to «make known the new innovative methodologies that are being integrated in the classrooms to address students with special educational needs.»
The director and the head of studies of the CDPEE San Rafael, Juana María Avi Arroyo and Ana Muñoz Hernández, respectively, and the coordinator of the Andalusian Network of Robotics and Educational Technology, José Fernando Anel López, have conducted a session in this training that combines a theoretical part, where the objectives of this methodology and its application have been explained, and a practical part, where the different uses of these technological resources in the classroom have been shown.
The success story of the application of this methodology, which uses new technologies as a resource to promote and improve the development of students in Special Education, is exemplified by the Cdpee San Rafael in Granada, which works in collaboration with the Andalusian Network of Robotics and Educational Technology and integrates these resources into its daily routine.
With this training, the Parque de las Ciencias has played a «fundamental role» as a link to make known the results of this work and explain the objectives and the methodology itself to education professionals so that they can make use of it in their respective centers.
This initiative, which has filled all available slots, has prompted the organization of a new call aimed at members of the educational community in the province of Granada. Furthermore, it has driven the scheduling of new educational activities aimed at sharing with the public the knowledge generated in the openLAB. These actions are part of the renewed momentum that the Parque de las Ciencias is taking on in celebration of its 30th anniversary, as highlighted by the institution itself.
