Comienzan oposiciones docentes en Andalucía el 21 de junio con 42.000 aspirantes

On June 21, the competitive exams to access the positions of Teachers, Secondary School Teachers, Music and Performing Arts Teachers, and Official Language School Teachers will begin in Andalusia. The Department of Educational Development and Vocational Training, as usual, has agreed on the start date of the exams with the other autonomous communities.
There will be 41,808 applicants participating in these exams, which offer a total of 7,808 positions in 33 different specialties. 4,401 positions are for Teachers; 3,276 are for Secondary School Teachers; 99 for Music and Performing Arts Teachers; and 32 positions for Official Language School Teachers. Additionally, the Department has also announced the selective process for the Music and Performing Arts Professorship with 77 positions. This way, in 2025, there are 7,885 positions available to provide opportunities for all young Andalusians aspiring to be teaching civil servants.
On the 21st, the candidates will be presented to the assigned tribunal, where they will be informed about the development of the examination process. Between April 30 and May 7, candidates had to submit their teaching unit digitally, and from May 20 to 29, they had to submit their merits for the competitive phase. This method avoids candidates having to physically go to the tribunals to submit their documents in person and eases the workload of the tribunals from collecting the paperwork.
The exams will start in June and will be completed by the end of July, allowing the new civil servants to join their positions on September 1st for the start of the 2025-2026 academic year.
Improvements in procedural management
The Department continues to implement measures to make procedures more agile, effective, and efficient, while advancing in transparency. Candidates can request a copy of their exam and receive the document with their grades once they are published, without having to wait until the end of the process. Additionally, a deadline for challenging the grades of each of the two exams has been introduced.
Significant efforts are also being made in terms of equality. Breastfeeding mothers will be allowed to make up for the time spent on breastfeeding during the exam. Furthermore, criteria have been reintroduced in the call orders to make the exam dates more flexible for women who are pregnant or immediately postpartum, without compromising on rigor and objectivity, and always ensuring the rights of all participants in the process.
Similarly, the Department continues the digitization of the process in this call by allowing the digital submission of teaching programs. This way, candidates do not have to physically go to the tribunals to submit their documents in person, and it eases the tribunals’ workload from collecting these documents.
It is worth noting that in last year’s exams, approximately 43,700 applicants were able to submit all their merits and teaching units digitally, saving around 1 million sheets of paper and the costs associated with transporting all those documents.
Concurrence-examination
The selection process consists of an exam phase, a competitive phase, and a practical phase.
The concurrence-examination will start in Andalusia on June 21 with the presentation of the candidates to the assigned tribunal, where they will be briefed on the examination process. After the presentation, on the same June 21, the first exam will begin, focusing on demonstrating specific knowledge of the specialty being pursued. It will consist of two parts that will be evaluated together. A practical part to assess the scientific knowledge and technical skills of the candidate, and a theoretical part consisting of a written development of a topic chosen by the candidate from several randomly selected by the tribunal.
The second exam, focusing on pedagogical aptitude and mastery of the techniques necessary for teaching, will involve presenting and defending a teaching program and preparing and orally presenting a teaching unit. Each of the two exams must be passed by the candidate with a score equal to or greater than five out of ten.
Regarding the competitive phase, which is scored out of a maximum of 10 points, previous teaching experience and academic training of the applicant will be evaluated, among other merits. The overall score of the concurrence-examination will result from the weighting of the scores of the exam and competitive phases, with 2/3 for the exam phase and 1/3 for the competitive phase.
