Arranca la escolarización de FP con más de 168.400 plazas para el próximo curso

The Department of Educational Development and Vocational Training opens the period from June 15 to June 30 for applying for a place in one of the vocational training cycles and specialization courses offered in Andalusia for the next academic year. The management of applications is done through a single district that allows centralized allocation of places, based on the priorities indicated by the applicants on the form. The process can be completed entirely online on the Virtual Secretariat of the Department.

To guide Andalusian students through the application process, the Department has implemented a tool developed with Artificial Intelligence, optional for use, that provides applicants with a real-time estimation of their chances of obtaining a place in the desired training cycle and center, categorized as very high, high, medium, low, or very low.

The system has been trained with data from the admissions processes of the last five years, allowing the algorithm to calculate probabilities with high accuracy. More than 48,000 applicants used this service in the 2024 admissions process.

This tool, developed as part of a project co-financed with FEDER funds from the 2021-27 framework, is available within the Virtual Secretariat when filling out the admission application for vocational training cycles of middle and higher grades, and only for applicants registered in the Andalusian educational management system.

New training offer

For the 2025/26 academic year, the Department has offered a total of 168,447 new entry places in Vocational Training supported by public funds, of which 1,460 are newly created. This increase consolidates the efforts of the Andalusian Government, which has created 47,552 new places in the last six years, representing a growth of nearly 40% compared to 2018.

Furthermore, in the upcoming academic year, there will be a total of 3,773 vocational training cycles and specialization courses, 31% more than in 2018, with a wide range of different qualifications, reaching 197 out of the total 222 in the national catalog, i.e., 87%. Innovative training cycles have been incorporated in traditional and emerging sectors, with special attention to rural areas.

The Department has reorganized the offer to better meet market needs, as 20% of places remained vacant in the current academic year, even in cycles with high employability. Therefore, for more efficient planning, an analysis of the situation has been conducted to focus more on quality of the offer rather than quantity. To achieve this, an offer with 81 actions has been designed, including 39 new vocational training cycles and specialization courses; 8 increases in group size in high-demand cycles and courses; 11 upgrades of the training cycle levels, replacing basic level offers with middle or upper level ones, and 13 adaptations of cycle offers to the productive sector, prioritizing more competitive cycles over those with low demand or low employability.

As a novelty, six new courses will be implemented in Andalusia for the first time, a Middle Grade in Ceramic Products Manufacturing in Macael (Almería) and five Specialization Courses, one of which is a Middle Grade (Floristry and Floral Art in Córdoba) and four are Specialization Courses of Higher Grade: E-commerce (Málaga); Collaborative Robotics, in Martos (Jaén) and Málaga; Development of Applications in Python Language, to be implemented in Almería, Córdoba, Málaga, Seville, and Granada, as well as the Specialization Course of Higher Grade in Vehicle Inspection and Claims Assessment, which can be taken in centers in Cádiz, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, and Torremolinos (Málaga).

The Department continues its commitment to renewable energies and the promotion of teachings related to green hydrogen, with new Middle Grade cycles in Networks and Water Treatment Stations in Palma del Río (Córdoba) and Huércal-Overa (Almería), Higher Grade cycles in Renewable Energies in Herrera (Seville) and Jódar (Jaén), as well as the Higher Grade in Industrial Chemistry in Mengíbar, Jaén.

Emphasis has been placed on teachings linked to emerging productive sectors with higher employability, with a particular focus on digital transformation and transportation and logistics. Highlighted in this regard are: Higher Grade Specialization Course in Remotely Piloted Aircraft-Drones (La Rinconada, Seville); Middle Grade in Electromechanical Maintenance in San Roque (Cádiz) and Palos de la Frontera (Huelva) or the Higher Grade Specialization Course in Cybersecurity in Operation Technologies Environments in Huelva capital.

The new offer also promotes traditional sectors that represent an important economic and cultural heritage for Andalusia, such as the Middle Grade in Olive Oil and Wines in Olvera (Cádiz), the Middle Grade in Agricultural Production in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz), or the Higher Grade in Landscaping and Rural Environment in Estepa (Seville).

Regarding the dualization of Vocational Training in Andalusia, more than 85,500 agreements have already been signed with 36,500 companies from all sectors and provinces. This effort is already reflected in a reduction in school dropout rates, youth unemployment, and historic lows in the rate of young people neither studying nor working.

Single district

In complete offer applications, applicants must indicate the cycles and centers they are applying to, ordered according to their preferences. An automated process evaluates the applications, automatically assigning the places. This is a procedure with two allocations for basic, middle, and higher grades, with allocations scheduled for July 10 and 21. After each allocation, a registration period opens. Once the second allocation is completed, the entire complete offer process will exclusively operate with waiting lists, where out-of-date requests/applications can be included behind any request submitted on time.

From June 15 to June 30 is also the deadline to apply for all modular Vocational Training courses, whether in-person, semi-face-to-face, or virtual. In these applications, applicants must indicate the professional modules they are applying for, up to a maximum of 1,000 hours. There will be a single allocation on July 17, with a registration period from July 18 to 23, followed by the distribution of places through a waiting list.

Regarding the percentage of positions available for those who want to continue their professional path, 40% will be reserved for students transitioning from a middle grade to higher grade, while for those from the Baccalaureate, the percentage is 45%. This ensures more places for students already studying Vocational Training to have a complete path.
