Fiestas del Distrito Genil de Granada: Programa 2025

The Granada City Council has presented the official program of the Genil District Festivities 2025, which will take place from June 23 to 29 with an intense week of activities that combine tradition, music, art, childhood, and neighborhood participation.

The Councilor for Equality and Mayor of the Genil neighborhood, Encarnación González, has been in charge of presenting the program, highlighting the collective value of the event: «These festivities are not just a tradition of the district, but a way of building the city from the neighborhoods, of constructing culture with a capital C from the local level. I encourage all citizens to participate and bring our public spaces to life, helping to maintain one of the most popular music events on summer nights.»

The kickoff will take place on Monday, June 23 with the emblematic San Juan Festival in the Bola de Oro Park. At 2:30 p.m., a popular meal will be offered, followed by children’s games at 4:30 p.m. In the evening, the party will be enlivened by the group Son de Mar (9:00 p.m.) and will culminate with the traditional lighting of the bonfire at 11:00 p.m.

From Tuesday, the 24th, the celebrations will move to the gardens of the Quinta Alegre Mansion, the epicenter of the XV Noches de Quinta Alegre cultural cycle, with daily programming at 9:30 p.m. and free entry until full capacity.

The first night will open with the reading of the prize-winning quintillas by local authors, organized by the Ntra. On Wednesday, June 25, it will be the turn of the Granada Young Symphony Orchestra (JOSG), while on Thursday, June 26, the spotlight will be on the young talent from Granada’s Ángel Barrios Conservatory, in a night dedicated to discovering new voices and local artists. On Friday, June 27, the cycle will offer a family show: «The Storyteller: Stories, Myths, and Legends,» a theatrical proposal aimed at audiences of all ages.

On the same day, at 10:00 a.m., there will be an exhibition of the Police Local Canine Unit, organized by the Department of Citizen Protection in collaboration with the Nuestra Señora de Monserrat-Cervantes Neighborhood Association.

The event will take place in the Rocío Square and aims to bring the work of these canine agents closer to the citizens in key tasks for security and coexistence.

Saturday, June 28 will start with a big children’s party in the Rocío Square, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with games, entertainment, and outdoor activities.

In the evening, flamenco will take center stage with the show «A Flor de Piel,» featuring Eva Romo, Ruth González, and Juan José León, at the Quinta Alegre Mansion at 9:30 p.m.

The festivities will close on Sunday, June 29 with two highlighted events: at 12:00 p.m., a Rocío mass will be celebrated at the Nuestra Señora de Montserrat Parish, sung by the Rociero Quinta and Tamboril Choir; and at 9:30 p.m., the final gala with the awards ceremony of the II International Short Film Festival «Un Barrio de Cine,» a contest that promotes cinema as a tool for community and cultural expression.

Organized by the neighborhood associations of the district – Cervantes, Bola de Oro, Carretera de la Sierra, Lancha del Genil, Castaño-Mirasierra, and Neveros – the festivities have the collaboration of the Granada City Council and local businesses. Councilor González has emphasized the municipal commitment to these meeting spaces: «From Equality and from our responsibility to the neighborhood, we continue to bet on a lively, decentralized, and accessible culture that projects Granada as a city of culture and participation.»
