Vueling refuerza su presencia en Andalucía con dos nuevos aviones y más de cinco millones de asientos en verano

Vueling reinforces its commitment to Andalusia and adds two aircraft to its fleet at the airports of Malaga and Seville, increasing national and international connectivity to the region, while also reinstating the Granada-Paris route and scheduling more than five million seats in Andalusia for the summer season of 2025. This was highlighted during the presentation in Seville of the company’s connectivity plan for Andalusia, an event attended by the Minister of Tourism and Andalusian External Affairs, Arturo Bernal; Vueling’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Brand, and Sustainability, Sandra Hors, and Vueling’s Network and Strategy Director, Jordi Pla.

The company will have 38 routes connecting Andalusia to 16 destinations, ten of which are domestic and six international, making it the only airline with a presence at all six Andalusian airports: Seville, Malaga, Almeria, Granada, Jerez, and Cordoba.

In line with this, Tourism and Andalusian External Affairs detailed that the goal of the Andalusian government is to reconnect the region with the world, «through the consolidation of our nearby markets and the opening to more distant emerging markets with potential.» This objective will be enhanced following the co-marketing agreement with Vueling worth 1.5 million euros.

After the work carried out through the Tourism Initiative for Boosting Air Connectivity in Andalusia, it was valued that Vueling becomes the only operator with routes at all six Andalusian airports and with the addition of a new aircraft at the bases of Seville and Malaga.

Among the advantages of this innovation for Seville and Malaga are more connections and direct flights, greater operational stability, a significant economic and labor impact, better flight schedules, and increased investment in infrastructure. All of these contribute to growth values of 40% for Malaga and 20% for Seville.

As a novelty, the company is resuming international operations in Granada with Paris, with two weekly frequencies on Tuesdays and Sundays from June 18 to September 15. «We will continue working in this direction,» the minister anticipated, recalling the April celebration of Seville Routes Europe 2025, an event that will bring together airlines and industry professionals to further promote the positioning of Andalusia. «A great opportunity to showcase the destination’s potential, expand existing connections, and offer new routes.»

According to Jordi Pla, Vueling’s Network and Strategy Director, «the reinforcement of Vueling’s operations in Andalusia reaffirms our commitment to the region’s connectivity to both domestic and international destinations, consolidating our leadership in Spain’s connectivity.» In turn, Sandra Hors emphasized that «the airline has been instrumental in Andalusia’s connectivity since its inception over 20 years ago, significantly contributing to the region’s socio-economic development.»

In this regard, the Mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, highlighted that one of the most prominent announcements was the establishment of a base in Seville starting this summer, which will result in a 12% growth in Vueling’s flight schedule. He underscored the importance of this strategic commitment of the airline to the city and to all of Andalusia, stating that «air connectivity is key to the tourism and economic development of Seville. Vueling’s investment in our city not only improves connections, but also drives the arrival of tourists and new business opportunities.»

Furthermore, the mayor pointed out that «thanks to the airline’s agreements with other companies, Seville is connected to the world through long-haul flights with a single stop at major international hubs. This allows for the arrival of tourists from different continents and the opening of new possibilities for Sevillians.»
