Moreno propone medidas realistas para equilibrar la oferta y demanda de viviendas asequibles.

The President of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, has advocated for the implementation of realistic measures to balance supply and demand, removing obstacles and streamlining the construction of new homes. He emphasized the commitment of the Andalusian Government to the housing problem and highlighted that in the last five years, the promotion of affordable housing in Andalucía has tripled compared to the previous five years, reaching more than 10,000 new homes.

Moreno attended the Costacabana area in Almería for the delivery of 64 affordable rental homes. A project that, as explained, has involved the collaboration of the three administrations, the Spanish Government, the Almería City Council, and the Junta de Andalucía.

In this way, he emphasized the importance of everyone rowing in the same direction to find a solution to the housing problem and advocated for redoubling efforts to plan measures that are truly effective, which involves expanding the supply and promoting the construction of affordable housing.

At this point, he mentioned some of the measures that have been implemented to address the housing problem, such as the LIST and its Regulation for its development, which is a real revolution in urban planning and housing and a huge relief for many mayors by significantly speeding up these procedures, always through dialogue with the municipalities.

He also referred to the Simplification Decree that has allowed many companies to face the increase in material prices, avoiding bankruptcy, the streamlining of construction permits, and the discounts in housing that result in an annual savings of 460 million for citizens, benefiting 250,000 Andalusians each year.

In this way, he emphasized that the Decree Law introduces innovative and necessary measures to make this large-scale operation viable, allowing municipalities to change the use of land intended for tourism, offices, or facilities to be dedicated to affordable housing, with the exception of educational and health land parcels.

On another note, he mentioned employment as another concern of the Andalusians and pointed out that in February, unemployment decreased by 2,268 people. «Thanks to the effort of everyone, Andalucía has been reducing unemployment for 46 consecutive months,» he said.
