Moreno destaca el valor de las «Mujeres Excelentes de Andalucía»

The President of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, attended the «Mujeres Excelentes Andalucía» Awards in Córdoba, organized by the online publication ‘Artículo 14’, where he highlighted the fundamental role that women entrepreneurs play in key and emerging sectors in society.

Moreno emphasized the value and transformative capacity of women and congratulated the awardees, including Ana Bella, Lucía Moral, Carmen Asido, Pilar Cosentino, Mar Perrote, Lola Cabrillana, and Paz Vega.

 

In this sense, he emphasized that women represent the best of Andalusian society and highlighted their efforts to create a more just, more equitable society where equality is real.

He also pointed out that society is the driving force behind major transformations and has the strength and commitment to bring about change. He noted that no society can progress without equality, stating that «full equality of opportunities is the only way to make Andalucía a leader«.

He highlighted that we currently have the largest female workforce dedicated to R&D in history, with women representing 40% of research personnel.

Furthermore, he stated that Andalucía is the second region where female unemployment decreased the most since 2018, with 246,000 more employed women than in 2018. The gender pay gap reduced by over 7% between 2018 and 2022, with more female entrepreneurs than ever before, over 210,000 self-employed women, and half of the new self-employed individuals in the past year being women.

The Andalusian President encouraged continued progress in all areas and joint efforts to achieve a society that is equal and where everyone has the same opportunities.

The event was attended by the Minister of Justice, Public Administration, and Local Government, José Antonio Nieto, the Minister of Employment, Business, and Self-Employment, Rocío Blanco, the Mayor of Córdoba, José María Bellido, and the President of the Provincial Council, Salvador Fuentes.
