Mejora en previsiones turísticas para el final de Semana Santa en provincias por encima del 90%: Moreno.

The President of the Junta, Juanma Moreno, has stated that the tourist forecasts for these days are very positive, highlighting that the provinces of Malaga, Seville, and Jaén have an occupancy rate of 90%, with expectations to rise to around 80% in the coming days for the whole of Andalusia, leading to the hiring of around 300,000 people this Easter.

Moreno, who visited the Real Hermandad de Nuestro Padre Jesús del Santo Sepulcro and Nuestra Señora de la Soledad in Malaga, which will perform a penitential procession on Good Friday, stated that Easter is an act of faith and devotion, a part of Andalusia’s cultural and social identity, and emphasized that it is one of the major economic attractions and a significant job creator in the Andalusian community.

He emphasized the need to care for and protect this popular devotion, while expressing gratitude for the work carried out by all brotherhoods in every corner of Andalusia, giving their best to preserve these traditions and ensure their passage from generation to generation.

The Andalusian President hopes that the final stretch progresses smoothly, urging everyone to act with prudence and responsibility as «many people are out on the streets these days», and advising them to follow the instructions provided by public services, always ready to assist.

Religious art is a heritage of Andalusia and a driving force for the economy, creating wealth and jobs. 80% of Andalusian heritage is related to sacred art, with Andalusia being the first region to activate a support program for the conservation, protection, and inventory of religious heritage.

Currently, over 4,500 Andalusian families depend directly on sacred art professions. It is worth noting that since 2019, the Andalusian Government has allocated over 16 million for the conservation, restoration, and inventory of historic religious heritage.

In addition, a new grant program is forthcoming for bands and musical groups to purchase instruments totaling 300,000 euros.

Moreno also visited the Cofradía de Nuestro Padre Jesús El Rico y María Santísima del Amor de Málaga, known for the symbolic image of Nazareno with a baroque aesthetic, set to participate as a throne bearer in the Fusionadas Brotherhood this Wednesday of Holy Week.
