El programa ‘Andalucía Sinfónica’ reúne a casi 7.000 espectadores en su primera gira por la comunidad.

The ‘Andalucía Sinfónica’ program, promoted by the Ministry of Culture and Sports in collaboration with the Unicaja Foundation, has facilitated the four institutional orchestras of Andalusia, the Córdoba Orchestra, the Granada City Orchestra, the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Seville Symphony Orchestra, to embark on their first tour throughout the region, attracting a total of 6,833 attendees across 16 concerts.

These figures are derived from the results of this cultural program, which consisted of eight concerts in 2024 and another eight performances in the first half of this year. The initiative kicked off on September 26th at the Casa Colón Auditorium in Huelva with a concert by the Seville Symphony Orchestra (ROSS) and concluded on June 7th at the Cádiz Congress Palace with a performance by the Córdoba Orchestra.

The concert in the capital of Cádiz marked the end of the first tour of Andalusian orchestras across Andalusia, fulfilling, as stated by Minister Patricia del Pozo, «one of the commitments of the Andalusian Government to bring a program of excellence to all corners of the community. We have responded to a long-standing aspiration since the 90s: to bring symphonic music to provinces without institutional orchestras».

Additionally, Del Pozo highlighted that this program, expanded to all eight provinces, and which saw «significant success» in its inaugural edition, «has been the result of collaboration between the private and public sectors, with a strong cultural interest benefiting the entire Andalusian territory.» The Minister of Culture expressed gratitude for the support of the Unicaja Foundation in this regard.

In this first tour of 2024/2025, notable audience attendance was seen at the Granada City Orchestra concert in Huelva on January 11th, attracting 820 attendees. Following closely in terms of audience numbers were the Granada City Orchestra concert at the Maestro Padilla Auditorium in Almería with 777 attendees, and the Seville Symphony Orchestra concert at the Villamarta Theater in Jerez, drawing 689 people.

During this initial edition of the ‘Andalucía Sinfónica’ program, the concerts took place at the Maestro Padilla Auditorium in Almería, the Casa Colón Auditorium in Huelva, the Infanta Leonor Theater in Jaén, the Congress Palace Auditorium in Cádiz, the Villamarta Theater in Jerez, and the former University courtyard in Baeza.
