CSIF exige a Cetursa en Granada «buena fe» para cumplir acuerdos laborales

CSIF union has demanded the public company managing the Sierra Nevada ski resort, Cetursa, to act in «good faith» to fulfill the agreements affecting the ski lift staff, who are called to strike on several days starting next Saturday.

Cetursa received a call for eight strike days on February 12, six of them on Saturdays for the entire day and two on Fridays with four-hour stoppages, at times that prevent the opening of the Granada ski resort.

In this context, the Private Enterprise sector of CSIF Granada, a union present in the Cetursa Ski Lifts’ works council, has expressed in a press release its discontent with the recent events experienced by the staff in Pradollano, at the Sierra Nevada ski resort in Monachil, in the metropolitan area of Granada, by some employers.

As conveyed by CSIF delegates at Cetursa, the union added in a press release, «they confront us, detain us, and shout loudly, giving a desolate image to the ski resort users and portraying to the public opinion a view completely detached from the reality of the rights that the ski lift staff has ahead of the upcoming strike call.»

Thus, the union has demanded Cetursa’s management to quickly resolve this «war» between employers and employees, originated «solely,» according to CSIF, «by the ineffectiveness of the public company.»

«The workers are facing calls, threats, and roadblocks in the mountains simply for exercising their labor rights, which are enshrined in the Constitution, such as the right to strike,» they affirm.

The union has advised Cetursa that the solution lies in complying promptly and in good faith with the labor agreements reached with the unions and before the Extrajudicial Conflict Resolution Service on aspects such as «definition of categories and functions, height bonus, training plan, calling of vacant positions without consensus with union representatives, or outsourcing of services such as the ‘call center’ or the ice rink,» and reminds that the only point established with a five-year implementation period is the retirement and rejuvenation plan.

The Private Enterprise sector of CSIF Granada criticizes the company’s «continued excuse» that it is the Junta de Andalucía that prevents the adoption of signed agreements and urges it to progress in complying with what has been agreed with its employees.

Likewise, it regrets that after «a promising start, the company has sabotaged the negotiation by taking up to twelve days to convene the works council after receiving the strike notice.»

Parallely, «they have tried to mislead the employers, persuade office staff to waive amounts already agreed upon, and have sent a statement to all employees in which they distort the truth instead of trying to reach an agreement with the council representatives,» CSIF criticized.
