The spokesperson for the Popular Group in the Andalusian Parliament, Toni Martín, has accused the government of Pedro Sánchez and María Jesús Montero of «lack of sensitivity» towards those affected by incidents and delays in the AVE high-speed train service, stating that «this can be cured with commitment and investment.»
He also criticized the «complicit silence» maintained by the first vice president and leader of the Andalusian branch of the PSOE on this matter. «Not a single word, but when it comes to favoring other regions over the interests of Andalusia, she is the first to speak,» Montero was reproached.
Before participating in the Provincial Executive Committee of the PP in Granada held this Monday, the popular parliamentary spokesperson referred to the latest chaotic episode recorded last Sunday at the Santa Justa station in Seville, which he described as «scandalous and outrageous,» attributing it to «the lack of sensitivity of Pedro Sánchez, Óscar Puente, and María Jesús Montero towards the railway transport system in Andalusia and throughout Spain.»
«The government of Spain doesn’t think that inside those trains and stations, there are people,» Martín emphasized, highlighting that these are «people returning with their children after a few days in Seville, Madrid, Malaga, Cordoba, or Granada. People going for exams, important work meetings, who suddenly find themselves stranded in the middle of Castile or at a station where the train they need to board never arrives.»
According to the popular parliamentary spokesperson, «this lack of sensitivity can be cured with commitment, which is demonstrated with funding in the General State Budgets,» where «out of every ten euros allocated for the railway transport system, only three are executed, and the remaining seven are left untouched,» he stated. «In contrast to this style of politics, which is what causes the indignation of citizens and Andalusians, here with the government of Juanma Moreno, what we strive for is transparency, information, good management, and budgetary commitment,» he added.
CONGRESS OF THE PP TO «WRITE THE FUTURE THAT SPAIN DESERVES»
The spokesperson for the Popular Group in the Andalusian Parliament referred to the call for the National Congress of the PP, «a party that can hold national congresses, while others, based on the emerging information, spend their time tearing down their history and their historical leaders,» he stated, while predicting that the country is in «the throes of sanchismo.»
In his opinion, «we are witnessing the end of that political era, and the facts support this. What is currently perceived in Spain is that there is no one at the helm, trains either don’t arrive or arrive whenever they please; if there are power outages, there are no subsequent responsibilities for those power outages,» Martín pointed out, adding, «as was already perceived months ago, attacks on press freedom, attacks on the separation of powers, attacks on everything that is not the Caesarism that Pedro Sánchez has implemented in his party and has sought to implement in Spain.»
«That era is ending, it will end, and the PP is gearing up in this congress to be at the service of the Spanish people and lead or walk hand in hand with them to write the future that Spain, Andalusia, and Granada deserve,» Martín concluded.
