Antonio Sanz destaca el compromiso de la Hermandad Matriz y las filiales con el Plan Romero

The advisor to the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue, and Administrative Simplification, Antonio Sanz, attended the General Assembly of the Brotherhoods of El Rocío in Almonte (Huelva) along with the president of the Matriz Brotherhood, Santiago Padilla, and the mayor of Almonte, Francisco Bella. At this annual meeting with the Matriz Brotherhood and representatives of the 127 brotherhoods, Antonio Sanz informed that everything is ready for the activation of the Romero Plan 2025 on June 2, the security operation planned under the Territorial Emergency Plan of Civil Protection of Andalusia, to prevent risks and respond to any incidents during the Romería del Rocío.

The 41st edition of the Romero Plan will involve over 7,000 personnel from all administrations, with the new Andalusian Emergency Agency (EMA) leading the coordination of the operation. The Plan will showcase the intensive use of technology for risk prevention, environmental protection, safety of the pilgrims, and animal welfare. The deployment will include drones, GPS tracking devices, satellite cameras, intelligent Wi-Fi for flow control, and more.

The organization will include a new route for mechanical traction from Palacio del Rey to the Fresa road, an increase in camping areas at Cruz del Ponce in Seville, and a Unified Command Post in Bajo de Guía in Cádiz. Additionally, the construction of the new Integrated Operational Coordination Center (Cecopi) in the aldea is progressing rapidly.

As a precaution due to the high risk of forest fires this year, the Romero Plan will provide each brotherhood with fire extinguishers. The deployment will also include 195 Infoca specialists per day, three helicopters, three planes, and various ground resources for fire prevention and response.

The health care system will deploy 13 medical assistance points across Seville, Huelva, and Cádiz, with a medical team including emergency physicians, pediatricians, trauma specialists, radiology technicians, nurses, and emergency technicians. The main healthcare center, known as the Hospital de la Aldea, will offer general medicine, pediatrics, radiology, and blood bank services.

The advisor emphasized the importance of safety measures and coordination for the well-being of pilgrims and visitors during the Romería. The event was also attended by other government officials, including the Vice-Advisor to the Presidency, Tomás Burgos, the Government Delegate of Andalusia in Huelva, José Manuel Correa, and the President of the Provincial Council of Huelva, David Toscano.
