Andalucía lidera la agricultura ecológica en España y supera objetivos para 2030

Andalucía leads organic agriculture in Spain. With over 1.5 million hectares dedicated to this agricultural model, Andalucía already exceeds the 25% target of ecological agricultural land set by the European Union for 2030, reaching 30.4%. This was stated by the Vice Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Rural Development of the Andalusian Government, Consolación Vera, at the inauguration of the conference ‘Present and Future of Organic Agriculture in Andalucía’, organized by COAG and held in Seville.

In her opening speech, the Vice Minister highlighted the «notable» growth that organic agriculture has experienced in Andalucía in the last decade, consolidating the region as a «leader in organic production in Spain», she stated.

«This leadership is largely due to the diversification of our crops and, of course, to the commitment of the sector. In 2022, Andalucía represented 48% of Spain’s organic area, and the data from 2023 confirms a clear positive trend,» Vera emphasized.
