The President of the Junta, Juanma Moreno, has stated that the Government Council will approve the new Bullfighting Regulation this afternoon, which is the result of consensus, a driving force for modernization, and a clear declaration of Andalusia’s leadership and promotion of the bullfighting tradition. He has pointed out that Andalusia is taking the initiative and leading the way, incorporating contributions even from other regions, to make this text the benchmark for the whole of Spain. «By regulating and updating administrative and organizational aspects, we are protecting bullfighting.»
In this way, he has explained that this regulation will streamline bureaucracy, include new types of shows such as public bullfighting practices, ensure that the best fans and managers are in charge of bullrings, and contribute to the promotion and support of bullfighting.
In this regard, he has outlined some of the initiatives that the Andalusian Government has undertaken in support of bullfighting, such as the strong commitment to bullfighting schools, assistance to the livestock sector in difficult times, the establishment of a Network of Bullfighting Municipalities, and the broadcasting of bullfights and novilladas on Canal Sur, with great audience success. «And all of this, always, through constant dialogue and consensus with the sector for the benefit of its present and future,» he added.
