MOTRIL (GRANADA), 13 (EUROPA PRESS)

The mayor of Motril (Granada), Luisa García Chamorro, together with the deputy mayor of Tourism Promotion, María Ángeles Escámez, and the president of the Andalusian Aeronautical Association Orión, José Miguel Pérez Juárez, have presented this Friday the poster of the XIX International Air Festival, which will take place on June 29th in the surroundings of the Motril coast, with the participation of more than 20 civilian and military aircraft and an expected gathering of around 200,000 people.

The International Air Festival is established as one of the most anticipated events by the citizens, as it brings together a large number of visitors in Motril and its surroundings to «enjoy the spectacle of military, civilian, and rescue aircraft from different countries and origins,» as indicated by the Motril City Council after the presentation.

Additionally, the festival will bring more complementary ground activities and entertainment such as various static aircraft exhibitions, talks and meetings with pilots and teams, family and educational areas, as well as cultural and informative activities. The poster for this edition has been created by Marina Gómez.

García Chamorro has highlighted the importance of this event that, over the years, «we have seen how it has grown exponentially to become one of the main, if not the main, Air Festival in Spain,» something that has been achieved «thanks to the work and effort of a committed team throughout the year.»

Escámez has emphasized how the festival arrives «full of strength, with renewed proposals and with a different energy that is felt from the very beginning,» something that is evident as a result of «a new impulse.»

The International Air Festival of Motril is the largest event on the Costa Tropical in terms of attendees, with a very significant economic impact in the area throughout the weekend and especially on the Sunday of its celebration.

Some of the major novelties of this edition are that, for the first time in Motril, the F-18s of the Spanish Air and Space Force will participate in an exhibition, as well as the Tiger Demo Team F-16 aircraft from the Polish Air Force will perform for the first time in Spain at this International Air Festival.

On his part, José Miguel Pérez Juárez, as the organizer of the event, has thanked the City Council for their «great involvement in betting, once again, on this event that brings so many advantages to Motril.» «This is undoubtedly the year of thunder, because it is the first time we have such a presence of fighter jets and the noise of the reactors is going to be spectacular.»

«We will have the participation of the Tiger Demo team of the Polish Air Force, flying with an F-16 Block 52 Charlie, one of the most modern models in the fleet. Another great novelty will be the presence of an Infoca helicopter.»
