Juanma Moreno convoca un debate de política general el 12 de junio para informar sobre la situación de Andalucía

The President of the Junta, Juanma Moreno, has announced that on June 12th, he will appear in the Andalusian Parliament for a general policy debate to inform about the political situation in Andalusia. He highlighted that while two annual debates are held in the Andalusian Chamber regarding the state of the community, the President of the Nation has only held one debate in seven years.

During his intervention in the question time, Moreno stated that the Andalusian government works to defend the interests of the Andalusians and Andalusia, opposing the policies that affect the Andalusian community and the mistreatment it receives from the central government.

At this point, he emphasized that the duty of the rulers is to govern, expressing regret that the agenda for the Conference of Presidents on June 6th does not address issues concerning citizens such as regional financing, railway transportation, ongoing network issues, or the state of the electrical system in Spain following a significant blackout that had serious repercussions for the country and Andalusia.

Here he mentioned that Andalusia suffers a 40% deficit in electrical transportation compared to the rest of Spain.

Furthermore, he pointed out that basic public services contribute to economic progress and the well-being of all Andalusians, emphasizing the importance of defending, advancing, and continuously improving these services.

The Andalusian President referred to the Andalusian healthcare system, stating that in terms of primary care, 3,072 healthcare professionals are being added this year, 262,000 extra hours were worked last year, the Management of Appointments Plan has reduced wait times to less than 72 hours for 206,000 people who previously had longer waits, the AviSAS notification system has prevented 12,000 missed appointments in the first quarter, and the nurse reception service has managed 357,000 patients with a 56% resolution rate.

He reiterated that among the priorities of the Andalusian government are creating more opportunities for quality employment, improving and strengthening public services, promoting the construction of infrastructure and housing, and efficiently and transparently managing public resources.

Consequently, he mentioned that efforts are being made to address the main demand of the Andalusians, which is employment, highlighting that nearly half a million jobs have been created since 2019 and there are over 3.5 million Social Security affiliates.

In this context, he indicated that the Andalusian government has consistently increased budgetary, human, and material resources, as evidenced by key social and economic indicators.

In relation to this, he highlighted the addition of 69 more healthcare infrastructures, 48 consecutive months of year-on-year unemployment declines, a record number of Social Security affiliates, a 6.5-point decrease in the school dropout rate, and the promotion of 12,000 protected housing units since 2019.

Moreno stated that Andalusia is a benchmark in key productive sectors for generating wealth, employment, and driving the economic model, such as agri-food, renewables, tourism, or the aerospace industry, emphasizing the commitment to sustainable mobility through the development of major metropolitan transport infrastructures.

He affirmed that the Andalusian government is working in contrast to a National Government that, as he stated, «is not functioning, as evidenced by the problems with trains, transportation, blackout, or data disconnection this week that resulted in the 112 service being offline.»

«Against noise, quarrels, mudslinging, and dirty politics that we dislike, we must offer dignity, work, and education, and that is what we will do,» he added.

To conclude, he referred to the news that ERC has agreed with the Govern to finalize the new funding for Catalonia before June 30th, once again expressing regret for the treatment and privileges given to Catalonia compared to the constant mistreatment of Andalusia.
